- THE PROFESSIONAL SERIES -
These lights are designed for continuous
use and challenged environments.

We know that you are dependent on your navigation lights, and we have pulled out all stops to make the ultimate reliable and maintenance free navigation light solution for the professional mariner.

TECHNICALLY FURTHER DEVELOPED PRODUCT
The process started with improving the already rugged Lopolight navigation lights* for super yachts and leisure vessels by toughening the outer shell with a hard coat anodizing in black. The professional series includes a IP68 waterproof aluminium base – that allows termination of the ships cable inside the light. We even add various sizes of high-quality cable glands to allow for perfect installation from 19mm (3/4") to 5mm (3/16").

The light installs on a plastic (HDPE) base plate, that allows for easy installation and isolates the light from the ship.

WITH CONTROL AND MONITORING SYSTEM
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the Lopolight Professional Series is that it comes as a system, incorporating our Control and Monitoring System **

We will also assist with specifying the best solution for you.

Please send us details*** of the vessel you want to equip or upgrade, and we will reply with a quotation.

*)
All our lights are fully potted; the electronics are 100% protected against water and vibration. Only UV stable materials are used, such as acrylic lenses and marine grade aluminium.

**)
The Lopolight Navigation Light Control
and monitoring system is a modern and
versatile system, that will be tailored to your
specifications, it holds type approval from
several class societies such as ABS
and Lloyds Register.

This new support sparekit product will ensure that all relevant spare parts including instructions for service is on board your vessel. Maximize operational readiness of your navigation light system.

THE COMPLETE
NAVIGATION LIGHT CONTROL AND MONITORING SYSTEM

Reliable and precise monitoring of your navigation  lights is needed both for safety - and it is required by the authorities, such as Class, Flag, Maritime authorities and IMO.

Full range navigation
lights control

Lopolight offers a broad range of navigation light control and monitoring (NLC) solutions that satisfies the needs of any maritime professional, any vessel of any size.

Rules and Standards

The system is modular, allowing you to select required modules, whilst maintaining the safety of the ship and compliance with the relevant rules and standards.

WORK BOATS

OUR LIGHTS SOLUTION FOR WORK BOATS

The challenge for work boats is that they are typically much smaller than other commercial vessels but require the same systems and sometimes more. In addition to this the equipment on deck is often exposed to the elements, with the inherent risk of damage to traditional navigation equipment.

Not any longer!
The Lopolight lights are rugged and robust and will take a knock or an immersion without notice. That the lights are smaller in height and diameter makes them just perfect for all types of work boats.

We have a full type-approved range also in the size bracket from 20 to 50 meters (40 to 164 feet), where our colleagues often will have to ‘borrow’ from their range one size up – that is normally not helpful if the objectives are compact size and affordability.

Yes, we have the special lights that you need, just let us know what your challenge is and we will return to you with a proposal building on our experience of equipping thousands of works boats with navigation lights.

Included in the proposal will be the Lopolight Navigation Light Controller (NLC) because what we really want to provide you with is a complete system – not some parts sourced from various manufacturers.

TUGS
Robust construction, vibration safe and absence of noise on the VHF – that’s the feedback tug captains give us when we ask why they have chosen Lopolight.

HEAVY LIFT CRANE “BALDER”
With 36 navigation and signal lights together with 2 bridges the “Balder” was a nice challenge for us when they wanted a complete re-fit in 2016.

PUSHERS AND ATB’s
The special rules for inland waterways is normal practice for the Lopolight team when advising on what configuration is required. We have many unique ways of making life onboard easier, most recently we introduced remote monitoring and control of the barge lights from the bridge of the tug.

FERRIES

We all know the tingling from the coffee cups preceding the PA announcement “the ferry will reach port in a few minutes…” that what causes the crockery to move is serious vibration reducing expected lifetime of equipment such as navigation lights.

Not so for Lopolight, as our lights are robustly designed, and the delicate parts are all protected by being fully potted out in an epoxy resin.

For double ended ferries the control and monitoring systems are equipped with easy transfer of direction, either via one button press or as connected to the general transfer switch.

Ferries from 100 feet to 600 feet, single or double ended, from all over the world are today trusting Lopolight to provide 24/7 navigation light safety.

CASE DECRIPTION
New York Staten Island Ferries

Selected Lopolight Ice-Class lights for their double ender ferries with dual bridges and tell-tale panels in the engineering rooms.

Being chosen to deliver to the new ferries for this iconic ferry line is an honor. Together with Beier Electric and Eastern Shipbuilding we were tasked with delivering an installation that should be LED based (naturally), US Coast Guard accepted, ABS approved, supplied with ice-class heaters whilst keeping the monitoring of the light performance effective, control panels at 2 bridges together with tell-tale panels in 2 engineering rooms below. And all the lights have bird-deterrent spikes…

During the course of the installation we introduced a 1-button “change of direction”, so only one group button to press to reverse the direction of travel, this is today a standard feature for all double-ender installations.

Should you wish to see the level of documentation Lopolight provides for such a project, please dive in

CARGO SHIPS

A safe crew is a happy crew! Avoiding the arduous changing of light bulbs, in dangerous places and at odd hours is always welcomed by the crew. Going from light bulb change intervals of 1000 hours to 100000 hours* is good news.

Reliability and low maintenance are key benefits that comes with installing a Lopolight Navigation Light system on board. The system comes pre-configured for Integration to VDR and central alarm controls. All special lights such as Suez Canal, Malacca Strait, Panama are available.

The Navigation Light Controller (NLC) has a number of automated functions, such as pairing which will bring the backup light on in case of malfunction of the primary light, and grouping that allows for the most used groups of lights to be operated as a one touch group.

The NLC has outputs for central alarm handling and Voyage Data Recorder, which is expected to be a mandatory function in a not too far future.

We are concerned about the environment and the fact that the whole navigation light system consumes approximately a 1/10 of the energy of as conventional system is comforting.

*) double light, with each light having 50000 hours of potential lifetime

ICE-CLASS NAVIGATION LIGHTS
- That you can depend on!

The ice-class functionality has been integrated from the early design phase; this gives a number of advantages that you can read about below. The ability to truly monitor the light, that the light can be thawed when in the ‘off’ position, only needing 1 cable for both light and heating and that we only use a fraction of the energy that our competition needs all comes together in a unique product. Did we say that there is no problem in mixing ice-class lights with regular Lopolight nav lights in a installation?

REFIT

There is an easy-to-install Lopolight retrofit option for your vessel!

Yes! you can re-use the existing cabling onboard, the power draw from Lopolight is always smaller than what you had previously.

And if you want to (or are asked to by authorities) upgrade from single lights to double lights, we are most likely able to help – again without pulling new cables.

With the experience from numerous re-fits Lopolight today has adaptors for most competitors products, so no new holes need to be drilled.

The re-fit can be performed by the crew, with no outside assistance.

The Lopolight team helps in the specification, fabricating custom parts, delivering a complete system that has been bench tested together before shipment – and we are available via video during the install.

The time required for the re-fit can be condensed down to 6 hours, this is not recommended, we propose to create a 2-3 day window for the operation to allow for a stress free process.

Call us, or send the request form, we have adaptors and fittings for all types of installations – and Lopolight is more affordable than most sailors are led to believe.
